7 Questions For You

Now before I get to answer the next round of your questions I have some of my own. Some navel gazing of sorts, nothing really out of the ordinary. You decide what to answer or not.  You can do it in the comments section, via email (maishanairobi@gmail.com), Facebook (Sue Maisha) or Twitter (@suenairobi) . Here we go:

1. Does my writing corrupt your morals, if they were not already corrupted?

2. Has my writing changed your view or behavior as regards sex, women or those in our trade?

3. Does my writing add any value to you?

4. If I was to write a book, what would you like me to include that I haven't written about so far?

5. Do you feel like 'Brand Sue' exists?

6. What book are you reading? I would like to discover new books and authors

7. What great websites would you recommend ? I would also like to discover more great websites.

 Thank you for your time.

  1. You answered my questions so its only fair I answer yours. You didn't corrupt my morals. I am filth and that's why I read this blog in the first place. If you write a book please give more description and character profiles of your clients. Brand Sue exists. I am waiting for the Sue Sex Guide and Sue Sex Toys!

  2. Sounds like you are a guilt trip. You don't have the powers to corrupt me. I am reading a Jeffrey Archer short story. Not your kind of book.

  3. You havent corrupted my morals as i read it as i would fiction. Your writing has given me more insight into your trade, but it is basically what i have always thought. Your writing is very entertaining and always look forward to it. 'Brand Sue' seems to exist somewhat, but just as a blog. To be honest, wouldnt want someone in your trade to be a brand, just because of the work you do and everything that is associated with your trade.

  4. 1. You have corrupted my morals. I did not know that street girls speak like you do. Now I do, and I am tempted to start hunting.
    2. Refer to 1. above
    3. That question is hard to answer, I want to say no, but I know I have discovered something new reading
    4. If you were to write a book, I would hope the book was not about prostitution. Please. I would wish it were about day to day living, ordinary living...skimpy on the details about the raw life experiences of a prostitute. If it had too much of this, it would not be as uplifting
    5. No. I think you are a good writer, but a lousy prostitute.
    6. I dont read books
    7. I think you already know this one, (is in the dying stages?), but makes good reading http://beinganescort.blogspot.com/2011/08/
    6.

  5. 1. Lol, I guess by most people's standards, my sexual morals are already corrupt.

    2. I think your writing has offered valuable insight, but I've always been supportive of people's freedom to enter the sex work trade if it works for them, so you haven't really changed my point of view, just given some factual backing to things "professionals" and "academics" in the US are already saying.

    3. See 1 and 2

    4. More about your interaction with that female client. I find it hard to believe already.

    5. Brand Sue is definitely in the process, but it's not as big as you need it to be yet.

    6. I just finished The Life of Pi by Yann Martel. It's a pretty light read, but very funny and interesting.

    7. My favorite bloggers are bbgblog.com (Bad Bad Girl Blog), rachelrabbitwhite.com, 25thingsaboutmysexuality.blogspot.com, and sugarbutch.net (The Sugarbutch Chronicles). I hope you let me know what you think of them.

  6. 1. No, your writing does not in anyway corrupt my morals. I'm a staunch christian and reading a blog does not in anyway affect my faith.

2.Not really since I do not go soliciting for sex in the streets. The respect I have for women does not change in anyway whether prostitutes or not.

3.Of course it does Sue, I like your creativity, wit and generally I get more understanding of the streets from the horse's mouth.

4 You've pretty summed it up...I'm cool with what you're writing so far.

5 Absolutely, it exists. Previously I had my doubts but your description of the street is so surreal and I certainly buy your story.

6 Decision Points, George W Bush. I like biographies.

7 Websites...nah! just the usual stuff, I'll not go there!

  7. 1. It doesn't do anything to my moral values - I just get some insight I wouldn't be able to get anywhere else (at least about Nairobi)
    2. "as regards sex, women" - no; "or those in our trade" - yes - I will be even more on guard than before
    3. Yes - of course. If it's interesting it always adds value in terms of information and entertainment.
    4. Errrr yeeeess ??? Why should I buy a book if you just compile your blog and print it?
    5. Not really. Your website and its name is kind of a brand - calling a fictional name a brand is pretty far feteched IMO
    6. Only boring techie stuff :-(
    7. GI(maybe)YF

  8. 1. Your writings have kind of corrupted my morals, you are very convincing in trying to make what you do right.. right now.. I am curious to know this place called sj and make it seem like prostitution is ok

    2. It has... I had no idea a woman with such intelligence and good writing skills and a good education would gladly give up on other things in life to go and lower your pants at SJ and live a risky life. This thought scares me, I wonder how many other bright gals as you with college education would be doing what you do.

    3. Your writing does add alot of value to me.. I am currently doing my dissertation and most of the inspiration comes from you. I am also inspired to start writing.

    4. I would like to experience your earlier life when you were in university, and other experiences just before that.. i would not want u to include what you already have here in the blog.

    5. I am still confused as to why you call this a brand... if you are trying to sell your life as a prostitute as a brand, is too far fetched.. ur brand would sell more if you changed it to other things..

    6. The dark fields Alan Glyn

    7. If you had an ipad, i would recommend the flipboard application..

    2. Has my writing changed your view or behavior as regards sex, women or those in our trade?

    Slightly

    3. Does my writing add any value to you?

Yes, you open my mind, and challenge me to think creatively and do something on creative writting.

    4. If I was to write a book, what would you like me to include that I haven't written about so far?

Yes, write a book - even just repeating what you have already written

    5. Do you feel like 'Brand Sue' exists?

Not really but the blogosphere changed when you came into the picture.

    6. What book are you reading? I would like to discover new books and authors

    Some Novel

    7. What great websites would you recommend ? I would also like to discover more great websites.

    a. www . nairobinights.info

  10. your writing does not corrupt just seems as a way to justify what you are doing. My view has certainly changed as I din know someone who is healthy and able to do something worthwhile decides to engage in such a trade and can clearly make a living with for instance, writing.I get to see how different people see life and appreciate and respect other peoples decision even if you do not agree with them. the br5and is not there yet and am still confused as to what this brand is to achieve as people hardly change their views on prostitution regardless of their circumstances. As for now all am reading are law precedents because am a law student though will set out to try biographies and other websites. Hope you answer my question soon. Ndururu.

  11. 1. NO. What would have corrupted my morals wolud be the juicy details, which you omit. Malicious woman.

    2. No. but it was shocking to know you dont have a sad sob story behind what you do, and that you have a university degree. wow.

    3. Entertainment. Superb!

    4. You. How you look like. Yea, of course i want to judge you n say> "By the way, those people on the streets, they have something about their body that annoys them, its trauma of sorts...like her teeth. All brown, jeez!

    5. no. she is just the girl next door. Try hard core porn next time.

    6. ****-no actually, i read. but this is abit tedious.

  12. On the question you've posed regarding whether our morals have been corrupted,,well who is to say what is morally wrong or otherwise? Who provides the checks and balances on the determinants of morality and also who audits the latter? The question of morality is quite relative. I will admit that your brand is big and it is my opinion that the more philosophical you are in your posts the better as opposed to doing a narration of what actually happens in the streets. About recommending reading materials well check out my blog,,I just try to write about anything and everything and I promise itakuchemsha ubongo and also tell me what you think. okothkolwal.blogspot.com On the question you've posed regarding whether our morals have been corrupted,,well who is to say what is morally wrong or otherwise? 13. 1.NO
2.prostitues tend to have little time for a man especially if they are not paid, now I know it is all show
3.I like your masterly of language and prose. I see you also avoid verbosity by adopting anecdotal moments to push your points and worldviews.
4.Yes, and more anecdotal moments, your views do not sway me than your experiences on the ground.
5.It only exists among your readers.
6.I read political books so I wonder whether thats an area you would want to explore....State of Denial by Bob Woodward.
    7.Politico.com hehehe

  14. 1. No it doesnt, my morals were already corrupted before I began reading ur blog!

    2. Yes it has. I know I cant trust any woman I approach in the streets. I have to be careful! At the same time, I now know women on the streets and in general, value a kind, thoughtful man.

    3. Your writing adds to my entertainment and knowledge about what really goes on in the streets of Nairobi and in the human psych.

    4. Include a chapter on the men( or women) you've loved and have loved you back.

    5. Yes it does. So much so that if you were to retire from the streets and start a brothel, it would be fully booked for a year. (You'd be referred to as 'Madam Sue'!Lol)

    6. Non at the moment.

    7. Try www.mbuguanjihia.com

  15. 1. Does my writing corrupt your morals, if they were not already corrupted?
    Nope. Still morally intact.

    2. Has my writing changed your view or behavior as regards sex, women or those in our trade?
Women in your trade - yes. Particularly why women like you (educated, smart, could get a job if they wanted to kinda women) get into the trade.

    3. Does my writing add any value to you?
It is entertaining, and assuming all you write is true - then eye opening. I take everything with a fist-full of salt.

    4. If I was to write a book, what would you like me to include that I haven't written about so far?
Be more descriptive of your "characters". Name drop if you can. I know, that's mean, but it's entertainment. Back to descriptive-ness, I am somewhat not convinced about these people, but that's just me.

    5. Do you feel like 'Brand Sue' exists?
Nope. Still don't know what brand you are talking about, not trying to be mean, but I don't get it.

    6. What book are you reading? I would like to discover new books and authors
    I read blogs only.

    7. What great websites would you recommend ? I would also like to discover more great websites.
Dunno about websites per se, but blogs would be a different issue.

  17. Hi Sue,

I am a regular visitor of Kenya and I have come to know the Kenyan woman as strong, intelligent and independent ( & not to forget: sexy! of course...).
It's just that due to the difficult circumstances of making a living in Kenya that they have to be creative in finding ways of survival in the urban ( & rural) jungle & you are one of them.
For reading I would recommend to you the books of Michel Houellebecq, a rather controversial French writer. You might find especially the book "PLATFORM" interesting, as it has many elements that you write about, as well as a rather cynical view on life on this earth, which I sense also in your always interesting & captivating writings. The book even has some views on your trade, which caused quite some uproar when the book was published.
Anyway go on full speed, girl, who knows one day I might meet you ...

  18. Ques 1. No you have not corrupted my morals. Just weird

Ques 2.Changed my behaviour for the better as I now see the need for foreplay. As for the girls in your trade it seems playing or acting dumb is a bonus because that's what the 'John's' need.

Ques 3: The value is that it opens up the world of commercial sex trade to us who have never known it that way. Most times we just view it as a place to 'bust a nut' when you need it quick. Enjoyed 'Shit Happens' because it always happens to all and it is good that you are honest about it.

Ques 4: Include the details on high profile people and Kenya's so called 'celebs' you have been with.

Ques 5: Brand Sue is definitely there and will only grow just keep writing this blog and eventually do some seminars when you are done with the streets.

Ques 6: Robert Kiyosaki - Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Cash Flow Quadrant.

Ques 7: No websites but you should invest your money in properties.

  19. 1. I think I am amoral. I have to think about what is right or wrong and how mach damage it does whenever I do something. I doubt that your writing can corrupt my morals

    2. I do have quite a number of friends in your trade (ex and current) and you are on par with the norm. Quite a number are well educated, quite a number are not, quite a number have sob stories, quite a number do not have them. You all are on par with the rest of Kenyan society.

    3. Your writing is interesting. That, to me, is value.

    4. Write as the muse takes you.

    5. I don't know that 'Brand Sue' exists, there is something in your writing but brand? I wouldn't say so, yet.

    6. I'm reading Bible of Clay by Julia Navarro. I'm quite an avid reader which is why I wouldn't invite you to my house. There are usually quite a number of books lying about...

    7. I'd direct you to my blog but that would be advertising...
